Defamation Trial, Delayed
The Defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber heard is delayed once again. The next date of this trial is said to be in 11th April 2022. So currently, it doesn’t seem that they will be facing each other in the Virginia Court Room anytime soon. But the trial is expected to last for about two weeks once it starts. There are various reasons for this trial delay. Out which it is majorly due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Initially, when the trial took place in September last year, it was postponed to another date later in January 2021. This was due to Depp shooting for his new film Fantastic Beasts 3. Later it was postponed further to May because of the Virus and the Virginia court having some backlogs due to it. For the very same reason, it was pushed ahead to 2022. Also, April 11th was the only nearest date available with the court. To start the proceedings of this case. As there were a lot of pending criminal cases in hand. That had occurred in Virginia during the Pandemic. The courts of Virginia have given priority to those and have already put a murder behind bars. Depp’s lawyers are speculating that there may be changes in the court’s schedule, and the trial will be preponed. But this is still an assumption by the lawyers, and there is no certain evidence to it.
