So here is the list of all the fun that is awaiting you this summer in the Month of May.
Netflix May 2021 Releases
The go-to app when you first think of some movie or some other film is Netflix. This app has now become a platform to view all the hits from all over the world and also ranks in the number one position amongst the viewership on any other OTT platform. It has also given us access to some amazing content like Game of Thrones, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, The Office, and many more. So here’s the list of what other movies and series Netflix has in store for us this May 2021 releases.
Deep Blue Sea- 1st May
The 1999 American science fiction horror film The Deep Blue Sea is re-releasing on Netflix. The film story revolves around the research of two scientists on the mako sharks in a remote underwater facility. They are doctors Susan McCallister and Jim Whitlock. The research on these sharks is about how the mako sharks help in the re-activation of dormant human brain cells like those found in Alzheimer’s disease patients. But after one of the sharks escapes the facility and attempts to attack a boat full of young adults, so financial backers sent corporate executive Russell Franklin to investigate the facility.
Colony Season 3- 2nd May
This is an American science fiction drama television series Colony has been created by Carlton Cuse. It’s season 3 is going to be out on the 2nd of May. The series is set around the time a half year after the aliens arrive on Earth and capture it. The event follows the events of Bowmans and their extended family in Los Angeles. Their son, Charlie, was on a school sports trip and got separated from them when alien walls sectioned off that part of the city. The father, Will Bowman, is an Ex FBI agent and also a retired Army Ranger who reluctantly joins the Redhat’s to protect their family.
Lava Ka Dhava- 5th of May
the show will have Javed Jaafferi’s trademark Hindi dubbing for commentaries. For a reality show where the contestants will complete carious jumping and running activities. The contestants who will fail in their task will fall into the make-believe lava.
The Sons of Sam: A Descent into Darkness- 5th May
This new documentary series is based on the Berkowitz committed crimes in the years the 1970s, killing several people in New York City between the year 76 and 77. He is famous for multiple nicknames, and one of these is “The .44 Caliber Killer” because of the gun he used, and he used the name “The Son of Sam.” The documentary is based on true events.
Time to Dance- 7th May
It is an Indian dance film produced by Stanley D’costa and stars Sooraj Pancholi as a street dancer and Isabelle Kaif as a ballroom Latin dancer. It also introduces British Actor Sammy Jonas Heaney in some lead roles. The film will have a release on the 7th of May on Netflix.
Jupiter’s Legacy- 7th of May
This is an American superhero streaming television series. Jupiter’s Legacy reflects the story of some of the world’s first superheroes who all obtained their powers in the 1930s. In the present day, they have deep respect as the elder guard, but their superpowered children also struggle to live up to the legendary feats that are set by their parents.
Girl From Nowhere- 7th May
This is an anthology series starring Chicha Amatayakul. The plot for Girl from Nowhere revolves around a girl named Nanno, who is always getting transfers to various different schools, and she has the talent to expose everyone’s different stories of hypocrisy. The series season 2 will be releasing this May on the 7th on Netflix.
Money Explained- 11th May
Many people face a bit of trouble in managing their finances. And this series will be a key to all their problems where some famous financial managers will show you how you are supposed to manage all your finances in order to multiply the existing amounts.
The Woman In the Window- 14th May
It is an American psychological thriller-horror film directed by Joe Wright. In the story, an agoraphobic psychologist befriends a neighbor who lives across the street from her New York City brownstone condo. Only to see her own life turned upside down when the woman disappears suddenly one day, and she suspects foul play.
Haunted Season 3- 14th May
It is an American-Czech paranormal pseudo-documentary developed by Propagate. The series is about how animals are assumed to be way more sensitive to paranormal activity than humans, they often become the main focus of spirit encounters. This series investigates the frightening, true stories of animal hauntings and the extreme steps taken by their families to rid their homes and also pets of these paranormal spirits.
The Mystic River season 1- 14th May
It is a series where three childhood friends reunite due to a tragedy. They are Sean, Dave, and Jimmy, and they’re linked together in a murder investigation which is about Jimmy’s daughter, who is in her teens. Mystic River featuring the actors’ Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishburne, and also Marcia Gay Harden in the lead roles.
Cybernatural- 16th May
The movie shows how teenagers get involved in the crimes of cyberspace. And how teenagers fall into the trap of the various cybercrimes. And how the teenagers come out of this scandal. This film will be out on Netflix on the 16th of May.
Sardar Ka Grandson- 18th May
This is an Indian comedy film starring Arjun Kapoor and Neena Gupta. The plot for this film revolves around a very devoted grandson. He leaves on a complicated and also comic journey to fulfill his sick grandmother’s last wish. The film releases exclusively on Netflix on the 18th of May.
Who Killed Sara Season 2- 19th May
The series revolves around the life events of a girl named Sara who was killed in a parasailing accident. The story proceeds to find the killer, but by the end of season one, everyone involved in the incident turns out to be a suspect.
Army of The Dead- 21st May
This is an upcoming Zombie heist film where after a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries takes the ultimate gamble. And they do this by moving into the quarantine zone for one of their greatest heist. The film will have its initial release on the 14th of May in the UK.
Ragnarok Season 2- 27th May
The wait for the Ragnarok fans is now over as the new season is arriving soon. This series shows the “Ragnarok” story that is based on Norse mythology. And that also carries a timely environmental message, and it’s now finally coming back with a second season.
Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 – 28th May
All those viewers who have enjoyed watching the fantasy stories from hell and heaven. Should buckle up because the new season of Lucifer is arriving on the 28th of May. The series revolves around the plot of how the Devil, who was initially banished from heaven, now takes a break from hell as well and comes on earth to Los Angeles. Where he gets involved in a murder investigation and meets Detective Decker, and later becomes a consultant for the LAPD because of his powers. And how their love flourishes in the midst of Los Angeles crime and interventions from the celestial beings.
The Boy From Medellin- May 7th
The Boy From Medellin follows the story of J Balvin as he prepares for the most important concert of his career. Which is a sold-out stadium show in his hometown of Medellín in Colombia. The show also gives us unique access to the Prince of Reggaeton. And also provides a deep look into one of the most pivotal and emotionally charged moments in his life.
The Underground Rail Road- May 14th
This series is based upon the book of the same name, which is written by the author Colson Whitehead. Where after escaping a Georgia plantation, The lead character Cora boards a train starting on a harrowing trip. As she seeks true freedom while being hunted down by a notorious and stubborn slave catcher.
DC Wonder Woman 1984- 15th May
We all are eagerly waiting for the arrival of a new DC superhero movie, and the wait is ended by the arrival of DC Wonder Woman 1984. The film shows how Prince Diana lives among humans in the vibrant, sleek 1980s, which is an era of surplus driven by the race of having all of it. However, she’s come into her full powers. And she maintains a low profile by curating ancient artifacts and only doing heroic acts secretly.
Toofan- 21st May
This is an upcoming Hindi language sports film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. And it stars Farhan Akhtar as a national-level boxer, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles. Toofan tells the story of a boxer and all the struggles that he faces on his journey to reach the national-level boxing competition.
Solos- 21st May
It is an upcoming American dramatic anthology streaming television series created by David Weil. It stars Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Helen Mirren, Uzo Aduba, Anthony Mackie, Constance Wu, Dan Stevens, and also Nicole Beharie, and many others. The series ponders on what actually being a human is by shared stories and how we are all connected even in our most isolated moments.
Panic – 28th May
Panic is a streaming television teen drama series created and written by Lauren Oliver. This series is based on Lauren’s novel of the same name, which came out in the year 2014. The premise follows 47 seniors who have just graduated take part in a competition. This competition is a key to get out of the small town they currently live in. But after the rules of the competition change, they now have to decide how much they are willing to risk leaving their hometown.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – May 4
This new Star Wars film is going to be on the most awaited list of all the Star Wars fans. Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows a group of elite and also experimental clones. They were first introduced to us in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and they each possess a singular, exceptional skill. All these qualities make them extraordinary soldiers and also an awesome crew. Inside Pixar is a series of documentary shorts about the people who are working behind the scenes in all the Pixar films. People of all ages have been enjoying it for over a quarter-century, but they have no idea who are the makers and support systems in the making of these films. The main idea of the series is that, through all these profiles, the inclusive and collaborative culture at Pixar will also be examined.
Cruella – May 28
The film is set in 70s London, where Cruella follows Emma Stone’s Estella and tells her how she went from living on the streets. Along with a pair of thieves and scrubbing floors in Liberty and the city’s famous department store. To being the ruthless fashion icon who has the iconic two-toned hair. This live-action Disney original story is co-written by the screenwriter Tony McNamara and also directed by Tonya helmer Craig Gillespie. Joel Fry, Emily Beecham, Mark Strong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Jamie Demetriou play the lead roles in the film.

Shrill Season 3- 7th of May
This season of Shrill will start off with Amadi setting Annie up on a disastrous blind date. And on the other hand, Frank is sick of working from home and takes a job at a salon. Meanwhile, Bill and Vera make a very big announcement about their future. And the season will have many other fun episodes for the viewer following this season.
Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K series- 19th May
This film centers around an egoistic and a bit maniacal supervillain who has a very big head and a relatively little body. This tiny little villain struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and demanding family simultaneously. The first episode of this series will show that how Supervillain M.O.D.O.K. is forced to sell A.I.M. to the tech company Grumble. And also, as he struggles to regain control of A.I.M., he is at risk of losing something even more important.
Mr. Inbetween Season 3- 26th May

This teenage drama story is such that it will connect with each and every person in their teens. The story is about a straight-laced high school student and her slacker best friend. HBO Max finally got access to Israels Uri and Ella. This series is created by Sanderson, Ofer Seker, and Yuval Shafferman. Uri and Ella is a romantic comedy-drama concerning the loss, madness, rich people’s lives, and more. And will now finally be on HBO Max.
Pray, Obey, Kill Series season 5- 3rd May.
The series is based on a real murder investigation of 2004. Where the killer used to get text messages from god, and he was ordered to kill the people in the messages. This case received global attention, and later a documentary series was also made on this.
That Damn Michael Che season 1- 6th May
This new show is a sketch comedy show and is based on The Saturday Night Live concept. This comic uses sketches and vignettes to explain what it feels like to experience everyday situations, including racial profiling, unemployment, falling in love, and many more from his point of view.
